On June 24, 2026, Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders would open at midnight local time on June 25. That same announcement finally published official prices and a clear split between editions.
Until then, this site and plenty of others still listed the price as unannounced. That is no longer true. This guide sticks to what Rockstar and Take-Two have said in public: what the game costs, what each edition includes, and which extras arrive if you reserve before launch.
What GTA VI costs
The standard edition of Grand Theft Auto VI is $79.99 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Ultimate is $99.99. Those are the figures Take-Two published in June 2026. Your store total can still move with tax, currency, and country.
Anyone who owns Standard can step up to Ultimate later. Rockstar says that upgrade lives on the PlayStation and Microsoft stores at any time, including if you bought a physical copy and already redeemed the code.
Standard versus Ultimate
Both editions include the full single-player game. Ultimate adds vehicles, weapons, clothes, and activities built around Jason and Lucia’s story. Rockstar frames it as a bundle of story-tied extras, not a second game.
Store listings call out a 1995 Grotti Cheetah, Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers, variants of Jason and Lucia’s pistols, a Dinka Enduro, the Crest kayak, a 1967 Vapid Dominator buggy with Watson Bay’s Paradise Garage, and other Vice City pieces. The exact roster sits on the official PlayStation, Xbox, and Rockstar Store pages.
Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+
Buy Standard or Ultimate before November 20, 2026 and you get the Vintage Vice City Pack. Rockstar sells it as a set that “goes back to when the neon burned brighter”: a 1955 Vapid Stanier sedan, a Shore Court garage near Ocean Beach, clothes and hair for Jason and Lucia, and a Vice City-inspired weapon livery.
Digital purchases before that date also include one month of GTA+. PlayStation says you claim the offer on the service page, and the window runs through March 31, 2027. If you already subscribe, the month stacks. One claim per account.
Where to pre-order
Rockstar lists GTA VI on PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Games Store, and physical retailers worldwide. Digital pre-orders can preload from November 12. The retail box has no disc: it holds a download code. Our platforms guide covers that in more detail.

What not to mix up
The Vice City Collection announced on September 24, 2026 is not a third game edition. It is a $399.99 merchandise box. It does not include GTA VI or a code. If you want to play on November 19, you still need Standard or Ultimate on the side.
