The official Grand Theft Auto VI site boils the premise down to one paragraph: Jason and Lucia know the deck is stacked. An easy score goes wrong and drops them into the darkest side of America’s sunniest place, inside a criminal conspiracy that crosses the state of Leonida.

That copy, the two trailers, and An Extended Look are the public foundation of the world. This guide stays with what is confirmed. It does not rebuild the map from unauthorized footage.

Leonida, not just Vice City

Vice City is back as a city, but the setting is larger: the state of Leonida, inspired by Florida. Rockstar calls it “the state where anything goes” and “Only in Leonida.” The Extended Look moves through beaches, highways, and corners that do not fit in a single skyline.

Trailer 1 (December 2023) and Trailer 2 (May 2025) already showed that fictional Florida: humidity, neon, tourism, and crime. The August 2026 Extended Look stretches the walk. It is still a sample, not a full atlas.

Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos

Rockstar presents Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos as a criminal couple who, after the botched score, have to trust each other more than ever. It is the first mainline GTA to announce two playable leads this way since GTA V’s trio, and the official tone leans on the relationship, not just the gunfire.

Ultimate and the collector box orbit that pair and Vice City’s pop imagery: matching clothes, weapons, and merch from the fictional TV show Macca the Gator. Leonida is not only a map. Rockstar is also selling it as the game’s own pop culture.

A single-player GTA, for now

Take-Two’s pre-order release calls it “a single-player experience” and “the biggest and most immersive evolution of the series.” That does not rule out a future GTA Online. It only states what ships on November 19. Rockstar has not dated a successor online mode.

There is also no PC date and no last-gen date. On November 19, Leonida plays on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Official music and objects

Rockstar announced Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, 34 original tracks written for Vice City and Leonida. The same site lists The Vice City Collection, a collector box built around Macca the Gator. Those are official universe products, not leaks.

If you want the tone of the world, the two trailers and An Extended Look remain the visuals Rockstar chose. The clips that spread in August are not that source.
